INDEPENDENT HANDBAG DESIGNER AWARDS (IHDA)

Design Competition

I was shortlisted in the final top 5 in the 2017 ' Independent Handbag Designer Awards' (IHDA) held annually in New York City. For the competition brief, I designed a red backpack titled 'Letters from the road' for the ' Young and Adventurous Backpack by Guess Handbags' - category. I chose traveling as my core inspiration for this design and as a Finnish designer living and studying in the UK this was a very personal source of inspiration for me.  I wanted to include visuals from an envelope to my backpack design and I chose red as my main color to represent a passion for traveling. The key message I wanted to get across with my design was that no matter where life takes you there are always means to keep in touch with your loved ones.
